Am I being too optimistic for my delivery date?

I'm going to be ordering a T500. I'm in Canada, and for reasons that I'm not going to bother explaining, I have to have it shipped to my parents' place. The only problem is that there won't be anyone home to receive the delivery for a span of about 7-8 business days.

There's a really nice sale on right now, so I'm planning on ordering tomorrow for fear of missing a good deal. Based on shipping times that others have seen, is there a good chance that it will arrive in less than 7 business days? I know Lenovo says "ships in 15" on the configuration page, but I wouldn't place all my trust in that estimate.

Thanks, from a future T500 owner.

Probably not. Still, if you're worried, you can also just convert your order to a quote at checkout, rather than completing it with payment now. That quote will be good for 30 days, including the sale discount. Just call them up when you're ready to place the order and have them convert the quote to an order.

Excellent plan. I didn't know you could do that. Is it clearly marked as a "quote" option, or do you mean the "email cart" option, where you can send yourself an email copy of the contents of your cart along with the price?

No, go through the process as if you were making the purchase. On the page where you actually enter your credit card info, leave the CC fields blank, check the "Agree to terms" box at the bottom and click the Convert to Quote link. A quote will be generated and emailed to you.

To obtain a quote, you have to get to the page where it wants your credit card information, and there should be a hyperlink to cconvert into a quote.

Or, you could talk to a neighbor and post a note on your door to tell UPS to drop it off at the neighbor's house and get their signature.
