    Hi,

I was looking to buy a Lenovo Edge 14 but looking at user reviews it seems to be a bit hit and miss. So I was wondering if anyone knew of any better alternatives?

The Edge I was looking at had the following specs:

14", Intel Core i5 (with integrated graphics), 500gb, 2gb memory, Win 7 Home Premium 64bit, for approx $700 (inclusive of taxes, discounts and shipping).

Anything with an international warranty is a bonus. Also not a big fan of refurbs after a couple of bad experiences going down that route.

    Thanks for your help.

Cheap, durable/reliable, fast. Pick any two.

If you picked reliable and fast, get a T-series ThinkPad.

If you picked cheap and reliable, get a T-series ThinkPad from the outlet or (if you're willing to sacrifice durability and non-Windows compatibility) an L or SL series.

If you picked cheap and fast, just go with the best numbers you can find for any machine from any manufacturer.

The laptop on the lenovo outlet is the way to go, since Lenovo check everything (hopefully). You should not have to worry about it going bad in a year, since they have a one year warranty on all their laptop.

There's no IWS on refurbed laptops. Perhaps the R400 via eBay might be worth a look if you're looking for something a bit more durable. You may be able to find a new one via eBay.

R400 is too expensive at ebay, Id suggest to use google product search to find better deals on ThinkPads if you live in USA.
