    Thinking about getting an aftermarket battery for my x41 tablet.

    I CANT afford a real IBM battery

    Now will IBM software on the computer/BOIS complain about this??? It already complains about my hard drive when I boot it up through bios.

    I had an x40 non-tablet, with an aftermarket battery. Never had any issues with it.

    My experience with aftermarket batteries is they don't last as long and they tend wear more quickly. That may not be a concern for an older notebook. You don't want to spend more on the notebook than the battery is worth.

    I don't think the BIOS will (it doesn't for my X40), but the Windows tools might.
