I am going to buy a laptop monday and have 700-750 to spend.

Im a CSCI major and need something for coding and gaming( Saintsrow 4 , Bioshock inf. ect..)

Im looking at getting something from the lenovo outlet(Y400,Y500,or Y510p) but idk if getting something not new is safe.

Has anyone bought one non-new? Are these a safe bet?

Also how long does shipping take?

Really good specs for the price, considering this isnt a refurb. I wrote a review on it here:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/ideapad-essential/724759-y410p-full-review.html

Oh, and the 769$ model only gets you a 768p screen and no SSD. I have the 900p+SSD model (got it for 800$ with a special discount that doesnt exist anymore)

Also, the barnes and noble discount is basically an educational discount, but requires no proof whatsoever. To sign up, go on the link below, create an account (email required), and enjoy 5% discount on all products :D

I bought a refurbished Thinkpad X230i from the Lenovo Outlet last November, and gave it to my father for Christmas. He uses it every day, and it's been perfect. No issues.

I've owned several manufacturer refurbished laptops with great results. Saved a ton of money.

Edit: Sometimes the B&N price is lower than outlet, but not always. I'd pick the lower priced option.

With refurbished theres always a risk, id go for the safe option and choose B&N, you can get the Y410P for like 750$.

Risk? Risk of what? AIDS? A black hole swallowing the earth?

For $750, the outlet offers a better screen (1600x900 is nicer on a 14" screen). Plus a 1 year depot warranty.
