    Cheers everyone

I'm really struggling to get any functionality from my Advanced Dock PCI-express slot. I need to get a firewire controller in there, but as soon as I install it (a Manhattan based on TI XIO2200A chipset, a fairly common run of the mill job), the system stays "dead" after boot up (dark screen for about 3 minutes), after that XP boots extremely slowly and eventually runs, but the card is not seen by the system.
As soon as I remove it form the slot, the system boots just fine. Am I missing something? Is there anything that could be tweaked in order for it to function properly?

please help, as I only have 2 more days to return all this gear. At present state its uselees, but maybe this can change?
