    Hello,

I've just acquired an Advanced Dock station for my t61p notebook. All is well, but the fan noise is a disaster (back to the old PC days more or less), especially compared to the quiet operation of the notebook itself. Has anybody had a similar problem? There ia a power supply inside, since the dock powers the notebook and has a PCI-x slot, and the fan is located near it. However the air coming out seems completely cold. Do you think it's worth trying to simply remove the fan? Or perhaps there's a DIY way to slow it down (I think about 4 times is what is actaully needed). Please help... This setup runs in a studio so quiet operation is vital.

    thanks

I've just determined that it's actually a power supply for the whole dock making all that noise. What a f*&k up... How could Lenovo let this happen - they engineered a beautifully quiet notebook and then a docking station that literally screws up all the silence. And it says "made in Japan" on it. I really cannot believe this...
Needless to say I need it to work so very much. One more bitter droplet and i'm going Mac.
