Ive glanced across this in a few threads but didn't pay much attention to it since my laptop was still in its production stages.

But now that its on its way, I want to know how in the world am I (a 20 year old), living with a bunch of other 20 year olds in student housing, going to sign a package that has been purchased by me using my own credit card?

What will happen? Will the notebook be detained until I can find an adult? That would be ridiculous seeing as my parents live a few hundred kilometers away..

You will be fine. I signed for mine and I am only 19. They don't really ask as long as someone at the address signs for it.

Shipping to your college directly, then the mailing apartment will sign for you. But you need to show your student ID to pick up later.

UPS doesn't care who signs it, you can have your dog do it, they just need some sort of scratch on the screen.

That's how my UPS guy is. He could care less as long as he gets a signature. I wouldn't sweat it OP.

21+? Huh? You can marry at 18, but not sign for a package at 20?

You're a legal adult at 18, so having to be 21+ is stupid. Of course you don't have to be to sign for it.

While not advocating disobeying policy (because NONE of us ever do that) I've honestly never heard of the over 21 rule before. i've always heard you just need to be 18. Evry package i've ever signed from USPS, UPS, and FedEX always was fine that way.

I've signed for things that required adult signatures when I was still a minor. I was like "Uhh... I'm 17..." and the delivery man told me "That's fine, I just need someone to sign."

I've signed off for things as a middle school student. It'll be fine, and besides, it'll be the mail room staff signing off for your package, in any case.
