    The correct link is
    http://www.lenovo.com/ibmspp
    and that will redirect you to a login page, where you have to log in with 536686.
    Once you log in, on the right hand side, the coupon USXIBMSPPTRIPLE is advertised on next to a green picture.
    And the page says coupon expires July 30

    I just had success with the SPP and the USXIBMSPPTRIPLE!

    Hacked $59 off.

    Generating a quote now, gonna wait to see if the possible coupon shows up on Tuesday, otherwise I'm gonna throw in my order.

    Regarding the fat wallet, if I go through their website, click the "3.5% Cash Back Rebate Available!" link, sign in, links me to lenovo website, I change that window to the SPP page, build, enter coupon, and buy that config, will fatwallet be notified and send me my rebate check? Am I missing a step somewhere? Its just that when I follow those instructions linked, I never seem to get any sort of confirmation from lenovo or fatwallet saying I got the 3.5% cash back.

    I'm pretty happywith this whole thing. 10% would have been better, but 5% is good too.

    Thanks for the tip! Fill us in tomorrow if a new coupon arrives please!

    That was really crappy of them, they voided that coupon according to Eastern time zone instead of Mountain or Pacific time. Phookers.

    Dont worry, the T61 will be significantly cheaper in August. Just as I told ppl during the "big memorial day sale" that it'd be cheaper in July. The August sale will be the best one yet. Based on historical precedent every year.

    No problem. Yes you wont get a confirmation for fatwallet immediately. But it should show up in your account a few weeks later..
    Note that you must always only click links from the fatwallet page, to go to SPP, search for shareholder in the fatwallet clicked through lenovo page etc.
    Never directly change the adress in the web browser.

    I'm sorry if I'm really dense on this one, but I'm not confident I'm doing it right. I get to this point:

    http://www.fatwallet.com/cash-back-coupons/Lenovo/ (lenovo store)

    Then I click the 3.5% cash back link and end up here: http://www.fatwallet.com/redirect/bounce.php?cbmerch=2619&afsrc=1

    Then I login with my fatwallet id and it automatically opens a new window at the lenovo website : http://www.lenovo.com/us/en/?PID=361116

    And that is NOT the SPP Lenovo page. Where do I search? Fatwallet or Lenovo? When I search fatwallet I get a bunch of junk for all kinds of companies. Ame i not searching in the right place (top of page)? Do I need to do it on the Lenovo website?

    I've followed the instructions posted all over this website, but I have never linked from fatwallet using SPP to the lenovo website. Always had to paste the SPP link manually. That's my concern.

    Is this laptop blowout a mid-August deal, or an August sale that begins right when July 31st rolls over to Aug. 1st?

    The latter seems unlikely, but hey, you never know. Wishful thinking probably...

    Only brick and mortar retailers do black friday sales. And black friday deals are usually on the crappiest/cheapest things, like $400 laptops and such.

    And, SkiBunny, although I believe you based on precedent, I just find it absolutely crazy that the T61 could be sold for any lower. I mean, when the T61 first came out, it was already significantly cheaper than the T60 before it. To think that Lenovo can sell a decently-configured T61 for lower than $1000 is amazing.

    Because I dont keep any laptop longer than 12months.
    Also, at the time I bought the laptop, that 3 years warranty was not $85. The above is a quote I created for a price match.

    The 800Mhz is the front side bus for the CPU. Dont waste your money on the faster RAM, 'cuz the T61's board will scale it down to 667mhz anyway.
    Check at Newegg.com and frys.com for the RAM deal. It should cost around $35 for each 1GB stick.

    Ok dude your method worked this morning when I tried it. However, I tried it again just now and it said in red at top:

    Coupon USXIBMSPPTRIPLE not valid for current shopping cart.

    WTF I think Lenovo is trying to stop me at all attempts of trying to obtain a coupon or something. -__-

    Guys, even if there is a better sale in august, you might as well order now.

    Your laptop won't ship till mid august at the *earliest* and then you have 21 days after that to do pricematch.

    If you order today, you'll probably have till the middle of September to do a pricematch.

    What do you do with the laptop after 12 months ?
    Even if you sell it, it would get a higher price with some warranty remaining...

    PS: Do you have any older thinkpads lying around that I could get :D :D

    this is my first Thinkpad. During the past few years, I owned compaq x1000 (the famous one), two Dell 700m, Sony SZ660, Gateway M8710, HP DV1000, and probably some more I can't remember, 'cuz I bought them and resale right away if I didn't like them. I probably sell this T61 at the end of this year, so wait for it. :D :D

    Anyway, sorry to the OP, i'm way off topic and the coupon is expired, too.

    INTEL CORE 2 DUO PRCESST7300
    MS WIN VISTA HOME PREMIUM

    NVIDIA QUADRO NVS 140M MEDIACARD

    CD-RW/DVD-ROM COM,UBAYSLIM
    11ABGWIFI WL LAN USEULAANZ
    6 CELL LI-ION BATERRY

    I use SPP + 10% coupon -> $1016
    + Tax NY: $85.13 --> Final paymen from my credit card: $1101

    I used Fatwallet cash back -> confirmed receive back 3.5% x 1016 = $35.5
    I used AMEX credit card-> waiting to receive from Tailormade 5% x 1101 = $55

    Price for my T61: 1101 - 35.5 - 55 = $1010

    Will buy 1G Ram more -> Final price : $1010 + $40 = $1050

    Is it a good deal ? Does the machine worth with this amount of money? I invested this money for my study in 5 year. Is this good ?

    Just called in to pricematch from the quote I made during the weekend (with the new account). The rep said she would send in a request, and it'll take around 5 days, but I won't get any confirmation. Is there any way to check that she actually did this? I don't wanna be screwed when it passes 21 days, and I can't pricematch.

    That doesn't match my experience. I just used it, and the rep said

    Thinkpad price protection:
    2-4 business days, e-mail confirmation
    8-10 business days, receive credit and smile

    If you're getting back more than a hundred dollars I suggest checking with them by calling after 4 days.

    Also, I believe you can't paste EPP/SPP url in the fatwallet session. You must search for the EPP/SPP link after starting a fatwallet session. I didn't make my order and fatwallet e-mail match, so I'm going to have to work with fatwallet to get my 3%.

    Hey, I'm a medical student, and I wanted to buy a T61 to use for at least the next 4 years of medical school. And after reading a lot of the forums here, I came to see that the best deal right now is doing American Express Family Survival members + USXFAMILY. However, I was wondering if someone could please PM an EPP info so I could use that. I would really appreciate it if someone did this for me. Also, if I am mistaken that the Amex Family Survival + Coupon is not the best deal I can get, could someone please correct me and tell me a better deal?
    Thank you.

    Best,
    Swizard
