Hi folks, I just bought a 8 Gb stick of RAM from Corsair and I'd like to know it I can install it in the free slot of my notebook having a total of 12 Gb RAM (4 Gb + 8 Gb "extra").
Is it possible to mix different memories?

Yes, it is possible to mix RAM sticks as you are doing. Lenovo manufacturing is considerate enough to install the stock 4GB RAM stick under the keyboard, so you only have to turn 2 screws to open the compartment underneath the notebook.

are there any cons in mixing different RAM (brands and sizes)?

That question has been the subject of analytical debates and synthetic benchmarks. But, practically, no cons. The main thing you should keep in mind is that when you mix 1333MHz and 1600MHz RAM parts, the two will be accessed by the memory controller at 1333MHz. Beyond that, it's the per-stick manufacturing quality.
I am typing this on notebook with stock 4GB (Hynis) + extra 8GB (Mushkin, with Elpida inside) combo, both parts 1333MHz, for months without problems. (Why a combo like that? Well, I just had a spare 8GB stick left over from a previous project.) HWiNFO64 reports that they operate in dual-channel. Go figure.
