    Hello all,
I have a concern with Thinkvantage Active Protection System.

Here is what occurs at times.

    Current settings 1400x1050 resolution

    1. I turn on my T60P
    2. I close the lid and do som errands, make phone call, etc.
    3. a few minutes later I pick up my laptop, go up the stairs and put it on my desk.
    4. When I open it up my monitor settings change to:

1280x1024 and all my icons are all unorganized.

basically what happens is I turn on my notebook, close the lid and after a few minutes I guess the Active Protection senses shocks from walking around and somehow changes my monitor resolution from 1400x1050 to 1280x1024 and messes up my icons.
It just did it 3 times so I need some assistance.
    Anyone can help?
    thanks!

Is your computer set to go to sleep when you close the lid, or does it stay on?

maybe try to hit Fn+F12 so that it will hibernate (in my case). maybe that will make things a bit better

maybe andy7079 is right, probably your notebook is still on when the lid is closed.

You don't say whether the resolution and refresh rate you want to use is the default resolution and refresh rate for your laptop or if it is one you forced the computer settings to accept. I suspect it is not the default setting for your laptop.

I don't see how shocks to the computer like carrying it around can cause the resolution to change. I often carry my computer around with it running and nothing happens.

It seems more likely that when you close the lid it goes into suspend, sleep or hibernate mode and then when you open the lid and reactivate your computer it defaults to a preset screen resolution and refresh rate. If this is the case then it sounds like you need to find a way to have the resolution and refresh rate you want to be set as the default. Of course this may not be possible. If it is not possible you could try and experiment with your settings and go through each suspend, sleep or hibernate mode setting when you close your lid, reactivate your computer and see if any of them work and if so use that one.

i found out when this occurs.
I turn on my notebook and the log in screen appears.
I close the lid and let it idle for a few minutes. roughly 10 -15 minutes.
I then log in as usual.
I believe due to the idling, and lid being closed, it somehow reverts to 1280x1024 and refresh rate is the same. my icons are also all over the place.

but all I have to do is restart the notebook and if I dont let it idle, it reverts back to my normal and default settings of 1400x1050.

There must be something going on when it idles at log in.
    Anyone can assist?
I don't see any settings for log on screen.
Also when it idles, it goes into standard screen saver with microsoft windows professonal logo.
