My brother put my laptop box in the trash which had my MS Office, XP, Drivers software and Thinkpad manuals in it. (Laptop is 2 months old) I did already register MS Office, etc and all is working fine. Any advise as to getting new copies of the software that came with my laptop, or am I just out of luck. I doubt Lenovo would be too sympathetic. Should I make a master backup of my system? I usually only backup word and excel files, they are what I really can live without. Most everything else I need is online. Thanks, Tim

You can certainly make an image of your current drive onto an external one, that would provide you with a backup of all that software. I would also recommend retrieving the CD/Activation keys and such of the software you've already installed, and writing that information down.

Lenovo should be kind enough to send a new recovery CD (which contains Windows). Copy down the product key for everything else and download their trial software. Serials are usually stored somewhere in the registry
