I have not posted here in a long time, but still the best place to go for advice on notebooks.

I recently purchased a USED X41 Tablet for $300, the X60 and X61 are still out of my budget. My X32 took a drive, continued crashes and no boots, I have a more experienced technician looking at it, I am more hands on with desktops. Anyways......

I comes fully loaded, 1.5ghz, (could not find 1.6Ghz at a low price), 1.5Gb Ram and 60GB HARD with docking station and CDRW/DVD.

Now, I am a bit confused,

I am looking at the getting the X4 Ultrabay and Lenovo TP X40 Extended Life Li-Ion Battery 92P1006 for the X41 Tablet, but no sure if these work with the X41 Tablet.

Does anyone have any information on this??? Any advise on other accessories that would my new Tablet more usable??

    Thanks ahead of time.

x4 Ultrabase - will NOT work with x41 Tablet ( source)
x4 Dock - WILL work with x41 Tablet ( source)
x40 Enhanced battery - will NOT work (need a Tablet specific battery [different shape])

Congrats on the Tablet and condolences for the x31.

The other major accessory I'd recommend would be something to offset the slow HDD in the Tablet. There are a few tricks to use a CompactFlash card as a DIY SSD ( Details). I have also heard good things about switching to Windows Vista/7 and using a 2GB SD card as a Readyboost drive. This will help mitigate the very high random access times on the x41 HDD.

The screens on the tablets are muy bueno, a definite step up from your X31.

Thanks for the input, I looked around and found the same results, I was hoping that someone had some hands on experience and would tell that either ultrabay dock or battery would work. Good thing I did not get either one, the X41 Tablet comes with the X4 Dock, but that does not keep it portable. Good new on the X32, turns out, (and I should have know this) was a memory issue, so I contacted Patriot Memory and RMAed the RAM and expected it (hopefully) soon. Only issue, I removed the HD, installed it in a external enclosure and moved all my files to my desktop. So when I get the RAM, I am looking at upgrading the HD to a 320 (from a 250). Thanks again.

I clicked on the source link for the ultrabase (thinkwiki), one user made this comment

"The X4 Ultrabase IS compatible with the X41 Tablet. All Ports function correctly and the Ultraslim device bay registers the correct devices. This erroneous belief comes from the physical disparity in footprint size of the Tablet and non-tablet X4X series. The physical matchup appears awkward, with a gap of approximately 3/16 of an inch gap in the front, and no positive latch on the front, only in the back, but the two 'lock-up. I am currently using an Ultraslim DVD-ROM device with my X41 Tablet and X4 Ultrabase."

Does anyone use the X4 Ultrabase with the X41 Tablet??

I received my X41 Tablet on Tuesday. It is a little scratch and dent, no actual dents, but some wear on it. Booted up with no issues. Installed all needed programs with no issues. I noticed it has a larger footprint then my old X32, mainly due to the battery. I am not sure if it is a 8 cell or 4 cell. Is there a way to find out?? I searched the FRU # 42T4610, but could not find out. Overall, I am satisfied with it. Taking into my consideration, my over all use of my X32, I am glad I did not get this one instead of the X32, small hard drive.
