Would 4 megs really make a difference? I run some big apps occasionally, but have never had anything close to that much memory and it's expensive but doable.
Also, never had a wide screen. Always had a 4x3 14 incher. Any views on that? I do a fair amount of text work and have heard they're a pain.

Unless you are running a 64bit operating system, i am pretty sure anything over 3 gigs is a waste. And to run 3 gigs, you would need 1 1gig stick, and 1 2gig stick, so they wouldnt be matched...
I think the smarter buy here is 2x1gig sticks... -
I think 4 gigs of RAM would be overkill. Save your money and stick with 2 gigs of RAM.

what are your "big apps"? and if you didnt like the WS, why did you get it? it does make a difference in reading documents, but i dont mind that even on a 12" WS

on a more serious note, I have 1GB, it goes down to 800MB used very easily, with just Warcraft 3, Word, and Outlook Open. I think it's sad that I need to shut down all my applications and do a reboot before I start playin.
About to order T61 - 4 gigs? Wide screen?
