    Intel Core i5-2410M Processor (2.3GHz, 3MB L3, 1333MHz FSB)

    Intel® HD Graphics 3000

I don't think so....does that depreciate the value a lot? If so what do you say is a fair price?

    I don't know that it's a bad deal, but I wouldn't get a X220 without the IPS, but that's me.

Lol ZaZ, you talk about that as if that's the only good thing about the ThinkPad. :p

Personally, I think you're fine without the IPS. Are you doing any graphical work or photography? Any jobs that require extremely accurate color reproduction?

If the answer is yes, then you'll most likely need the IPS. Otherwise, you're fine.

Seriously, don't get one without IPS. That's one of the best features in the X220. It's a stunning screen regardless of what you're using the notebook for.

Nope I won't be doing anything like that mysterious. Is the price about right or should I shop around? The guy I'm buying it off of only has 6 days into it.

In all honesty, my IBM/Lenovo knowledge is quite limited. I'd defer to others that have had extensive knowledge and experience with the brand. :)

Don't waste $660. Get a new one if you have to. As good as the IPS screen is, Thinkpad TN screens are horrible.

Core i5 X220 models have been selling in the $650-750 range brand new with some of Lenovo's latest deals (and it has the the IPS screen). So, I would say this is not a particularly good deal. Have patience ;)

The IPS upgrade for the X220 is 50 USD (45 USD for EPP/SPP/education users.) So really, the question is whether or not excellent blacks, wide viewing angles, and great colors are worth fifty bucks to you. If so, don't even consider any X220s without the IPS panel. If not, get whatever X220 you want.

If you buy one without the IPS "Premium" display right now, you can't later decide you want the IPS screen. Go ahead and spend the extra buck to get a brand new one with the IPS screen upgrade if you can.

The screen is the most important component in a computer, because it's what you look at all the time.

I wouldn't buy this one ... since deals like this come all the time from lenovo ... wait a bit and the price will be the same with a sale from lenovo and then you can simply add the IPS ....

Looks like whoever you are buying this from is simply trying to get their money back on this deal ... not giving you a great deal ...

I think the OP has an offer from an indiv selling one.

I would say 1) go to lenovo.com and input the actual machine and options. The seller can get it for you unless he stole it.

    2) If it cost over $600 buy it if the options work for you.

If it is kinda worth it but not quite, offer him less.
