Is X120e something between the X220 and the ideapads? Is it good enough for web surfing, email, office production, watching some videos (but no games), some photos...? I've always bought the more "regular" thinkpads, and would like to know if for a 'no game player' X120e might be enough. It seem very light, too, not sure about battery life, though.

    Feedback appreciated.

It's awesome. I have a 15" Dell that is too big to carry around and a netbook that lasts 10 hours but is too small and underpowered to use comfortably in class. The x120e is the perfect middle ground for portable computing. It's really sturdy, the keyboard is awesome and the battery really lasts about seven hours if you're just doing note-taking, web-surfing, etc. And it's powerful enough that you don't get that frustrating lag that a netbook has.

I always smile when I see girls take out huge laptops (I know they're not doing anything more graphically intensive than Facebook) and scramble to find outlets as I use my x120e all day without even bringing a cord.

Thanks, sounds great. How is the screen? Is it very small? What major things would I still be missing in comparison to, say Thinkpad X220, even if I don't play games at all?

The screen is small and honestly not the best I've ever seen, but the resolution is very high (for the small size). It's actually the same resolution as the x220, although that has a bigger screen and potentially much longer battery life (and a much higher price).

Since my eyesight is good, I went with the x120e after realizing that I wouldn't get any extra screen real estate with the bigger x220.

I absolutely love mine, for all the reasons romant56 mentioned.

Good price/performance ratio. It's perfect for a light client.
