Looking at the spec sheet, something doesn't quite add up.

The only LED backlight screen the T500 model has is WXGA rated at 185 nits, wheras the non-LED WSXGA one is supposadly brighter at 200 nits. Price lists don't show a LED screen model coming with dedicated graphics. Might I ask why? This doesn't make any sense.

Also, if you look more closely to the T400 specs, the LED screen is WXGA+ and yet, the resolution is listed as 1680x1050. I know this is merely a typo - but which one is it?

    Just curious is all. :)

Lenovo has typos everywhere. It is really bad and unprofessional.

I´m really interested in seeing the corrected T400 spec sheet. I´d love a T400 with WSXGA+ resolution, as the T500 is a little too big for my liking.

Of course, an X300 with WXSGA+ would be much better.

I would appreciate if anyone has any info on the screen resolution of the T400. Thanks

Ain't gonna happen. Look at the dpi and do the math. That's clearly meant for a 15.4 not 14.1

Plus the tabook has the true store - WXGA+ 1440x900

    Thank You very much.

I´d forgotten all about the tabbook. It´s been almost four years since I bought a T42p that got smashed in an accident this past May, and got confused with all the typos in the spec sheets.

I´m kinda dissapointed that the T400 has such a "low" resolution. 1440x900 isn´t good enough for my needs. It seems that my only choices right now are, an X300 with the same resolution as the T400, but with slower processor, and an T500 that is bigger... I want/need a Thinkpad, and since I travel a lot, a 1680x1050 T400 would´ve been perfect for me.

Thanks for the heads-up, fellow thinkpad lovers :D

You have better eyes than me. I've had a 1680x1050 Dell D810 and on some days that was too tight a resolution. I can't imaging 1680x1050 on a 14.1 screen.

I'd prefer 4:3 1280x1024 but thats not where the market is going these days. :(

I probably don´t have better vision than You, as I wear eyeglasses. But I got spoilt with my 1600x1200 T42p with larger font DPI.

I regularly have some 20+ windows running at the same time, some are software development environments where I need screen real estate, many live messenger windows, excel, word, remote desktop, etc. I have a very undefined job title, hehe.

The only problem with my 15" T42p was that it was somewhat big for travelling, and it seems that the 15.4" T500 is even bigger, so I don´t think it´s an option for me.

But maybe still, I´ll be getting a T400 or maybe a X300 if it gets a HDD sometime soon.

Question here. Is not better the wxga+ LED, than the previous screens of the T61?

Are you asking if it is better to get the WXGA+ LED backlit screen than the previous T61 screen?

I think / hope it is. Since I've not seen the screen in person or in reviews, I'm hoping it is. The other LED backlit screens I've seen certainly are nicer than their CCFL counterparts. Not spectacularly better, but the difference is noticeable.

If you're not sure or if you're not willing to take a chance, then your best strategy is to wait until they're out in peoples hands or until you can go see one somewhere.

Well, may be not relevant in this thread... but if resolution and portability is paramount to you, you may want to have a look at the new Sony VAIO Z series. Certain configurations feature 13.1” WXGA++ (1600 x 900) LED display.

OMG, the Vaio Z has amazing specs. This should put a test on my love for the thinkpad keyboard and trackpoint. Ugggh!

I really hope they announce a HDD X300 really soon :(
