    Hi,

i am fine tuning my brand new T61 and i am trying to find the best power scheme for using the laptop both with battery and AC.

Do you use the built-in "Energy Star" and are happy with this or something else ?? (Windows Vista 32 bit)

I have installed and try the "Vista battery saver" program and set it to "Power Source [optimized]" when on battery and "Maximum Performance" when on AC.

Are there any suggestions that you can make so to maximize my overall experience with the power management ??

Thanks a lot for any help!

If you are really that worried about maximizing battery life while using your laptop on the go, there is the program known as RMClock in which you can manually control the dynamic speed switching of your laptop's CPU. With RMClock you can even undervolt your CPU - basically feed the CPU less power when it is not necessary. Reduces heat, less time that the fan is on, its a win win situation.

I use Energy Star with the display set slightly lower on AC and use Maximum Battery Life on battery.
