    What is so bad about Abit? They make great motherboards and other components, and would be a great addition to the IBM development team.

    Because availability of computer parts in Canada has always been rather limited compared to the US.

    Besides, even if Abit did have a reputation for low quality components, what makes you think that it could possibly affect Thinkpad design? That's the important part.

    Not Thinkpad Design... I mean Lenovo and Abit making cheap mobos and such making quality going down. I seen it happen before...

    I have an ABIT motherboard in my custom built AMD desktop. ABIT makes some of the finest most overclockable motherboards on the market. They have won countless awards for superior motherboards.

    Another motherbaord maker DFI was an OEM board manufacturer before their motherboards won every speed competition. Now DFI is known as one of the top motherboard manufacturers.

    Abit is a very well respected motherboard manufacturer.
