Hi, I've been bouncing several forums looking for people who own Lenovo Y510 laptops with 250GB HDDs.

Basically what I'm after is some information regarding the partitioning of the drive because I made a boo boo.

I am one of the many hosts of a Windows 7 launch party, in doing that I celebrated by installing my complementary copy of Windows 7 Ultimate Signature Edition. (64 BIT)

In formating I decided it was time to remove that obnoxious and useless D: drive taking up ~30GB of space and merge it with my C: to push it over 200GB

In doing all this 7 ran fine, and the EISA (Hidden Recovery drive) was fine.
When trying to install drivers...I began to realize almost NOTHING from Lenovo worked. (Part of it was that the drivers were only 32 BIT) but in other cases...such as Energy Management software, DVD Burning software, and Veriface software I was encountered with an error saying [IMG]

    It's awesome.
    Only not.

So rather than a full format and install of 7 I thought that I could just run an upgrade to the OS.

No, that was not the case.
Upon launching recovery I am now told my C: partition is altered from the image to recover. This is because I expanded the partition, and when the EISA drive goes to match the sizes...it doesn't add up.

So what I am looking for is the SPECIFIC sizes of the C: and D: drives down to the KB (if possible, but MB is ok)

You will know you're drive is the correct one if your EISA drive is 16.75GB

This will help out a LOT!
I've asked Lenovo and don't get me started on them, they are absolutely USELESS. I'm not being a "customer" or "ignorant" to the facts. I have spoken with and argued with for several days now, trying to get recovery disks (as a last option) - but they won't provide them unless I pay $60.

$50 for Out of Warranty fee, $10 for the disks.
    Ridiculous.

This is why I'm trying to enlist the help of other fellow Y510 owners.

You can recover to the factory preinstalled OS by deleting all partitions except the EISA [OneKey Recovery] partition. Then boot with the NOVO button and continue with the on-screen dialogue.

    Lol no.
    I did that.

It says the C: drive is altered (in capacity) and the size is different (regardless of being smaller / larger) than the factory image on the EISA

Anyways I gave up, I deleted the EISA and added it to my HDD.

    230Gb of space now :\

I got the NOVO Power settings to work with Windows 7
I also got the software such as POWER 2 GO and Easy Cam to install (though Easy cam is upside down, ?)

    That's where I'm at now.
