My T60 has ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 128MB and runs Vista at 1280x800
But it seems that somehow I don't get 3D support
Sisoft Sandra tells me I don't have 3D hardware acceleration in its DirectX test; my Windows Vista Experience Index is only 2.8 for Graphics and 3.0 for Gaming Graphics; when I run 3DMarks 06, my FPS is smaller than 1 and the score is a miserable 347
When I run Need For Speed 6, I have no problem setting all features to highest and getting smooth play, but when I run NFS 9, the graphics is terrible

Does anyone know what's wrong with my system?
    Thanks!

    EDIT:
I just ran 3DMark05 and got 871. Other people also with Core 2 T7200 and ATI x1400 get around 2000. I noticed the difference is that my ATI card runs at 128MHZ while their run at around 400MHZ

Why is there a frequency difference? Has Lenovo tricked me by using lower-grade GPU memory?

No Lenovo did not trick you...

Install the lastest catalyst drivers and make sure that the card is not running in power saving mode.

Other than that, the only other explanation is a faulty card.

    Thank you so much!
I usually set my cpu speed to "adaptive", and I didn't know that it could also affect ATI
After changing the power scheme to maximum performance, I got a 2400 score (1024*768) in PCMark05 ^_^

Where did you set your CPU speed to adaptive?

You can set it in ThinkVantage's power manager
I created a new power plan for it

871 seems horribly slow. I have the lower X1300 and got 1540 in 3dMark05

Smalltalk80, I have a similar config and I am unable to run NFS Hot Pursuit2 (gets the initial screen with the yellow car and fails saying that 'Unknown problem initializing graphics')and NFS MW Relentless (doesn't start at all, Vista closes speed.exe claiming that the program has stopped responding).

What version of Catalyst Center and Mobility drivers do you use?

Note: I tried these NFS versions at the lowest possible resolution (800 X 600), no luck :(. OCed the X1400 to 590-490 (from 492-436), no luck :(
I can run Age of Empires 3 and Age of Mythology at 1680 X 1050 at 25-30 FPS.
