    I am stumped...

The Lenovo site says that the V5250 has 256MB GDDR3. So do all docs. But the ATI Catalyst Control Center, 3DMark06, and PCWizard all say that there is 512MB VRAM. Which is right???

256 MB is dedicated by default to the video card (its own RAM) and 256 additional MBs of RAM can be allocated from the system memory when needed. It says 512MB as that is the maximum amount of RAM the video card can perform with. 256 Dedicated, 256 Hypermemory.

As far as I know, it performs equally well. The 256 MB that gets added to the video card memory is entered into the total pool of memory for that specific task/time frame, basically doubling the capacity of the video card.

I assume that means that the GPU can handle a game that requires 512MB VRAM?

sounds like a good setup... another reason to get another GB stick of RAM :D
