Set up my AT&T/Cingular WWan yesterday and had some things to share for anyone else who needs to activate this:
After watching the pricing plans on teh AT&T/Cingular site for awhile, I noticed that they had finally listed their unlimited data plan for 59.99 and dropped the requirement of having a cingular phone plan. Used to be, without the phone plan on cingular, it was a 79.99. Now they drop the phone requirement in lieu of a *1* year contract. ( http://www.wireless.att.com/businesscenter/popup/dataconnect-comp-table.jsp#laptopconnect)
Called the number provided by Lenovo for WWan activation. Went through the basic credit check info and then was told that the price would be 59.99 with a *2* year contract. Showed the rep the link above, but she said the 2 year was all they were allowed to do.
Decided to call AT&T/Cingular directly and set it up directly with them. First guy I talked to argued with me a little about the contract term. I showed him the link I found, he showed me how if I pick a plan, and then go to pick a phone (like a normal online new phone account) that all the pricing there for new phones is with a 2 year contract and that was all he could do. I told him to go ahead, but instead he forwarded me to someone else so that I could start all over from the top.
All I can say is that if you get the right person (which for me appeared to be someone in their business sales area) you *can* get the 59.99 plan with a 1 year (11 month actually) contract. This guy said that it was since I had my own hardware. I have no idea why it took talking to 3 different people to get it right.
Anyway, just know that it is possible to get 59.99 with 1 yr commitment.
Oh, and if you are running Vista 64, google and find the 6.3.10 version of the AT&T Communication software...Lenovo only updates to the 6.2 version and it is horrible with Vista64...might be horrible with 32bit too.
Hope this helps anyone who has to go through...once you get it all going it is great.

Still having problems with the WWAN drivers under Vista 64bit. I get lots of "No Device Detected" and lockups and such when I try to use the card. Sometimes it works, other times I have to reboot and hold my breath...so apparently even the 6.3.10 version is not perfect.
Anyone else out there using this thing?
Under Vista 32bit does it work more consistently?
