Hi, guys i thinking about buying new gaming laptop. i chose 2 best laptops for my budget. 1:Lenovo IdeaPad Y50-70 and 2:ASUS ROG G551JW. I've done some research and both laptops are pretty similar. And both have some issues. Can someone help me to chose one of them?

My opinion is that they both have two issues that make them unpurchasable. 1. Average-below average cooling design. 2. Touchpads with no physical buttons. Dell is selling a laptop very similar to the above two, Inspiron 15 7000 series, same two terrible features.

    I hope I helped.

i've used the asus rog g551 for 2 weeks and returned it.

only reason to retun was because the darn thing weights like 9 pounds, no joke. Very sturdy. however it's more of a desktop replacement. You can't really carry it around, way too heavy. Also the laptop is HUGE.
The screen on the asus is crisp with good colors and latency for games.

On the other hand, the lenovo is very thin and light, so it's perfect to carry around.
Drawbacks of lenovo would be absolutelly horrendous screen (not accurate colors, so-so viewing angle, and very dim even at max brightness).
also, lenovo has no DVD drive, it comes with an external one.

i ended up with the lenovo for the sake of portability.

As far as gaming goes, you definitelly need a cooling pad for the lenovo. after about 30 mins of gaming my CPU starts to throttle a bit unless i turn on cooling pad.
Never experienced that withthe Asus ROG.
