i am not sure why.
If I use Fn + home to full brightness at battery status isn't as bright as AC Fn + home full brightness.

If you are referring to the LCD being brighter while on AC power: search the forum... it's a bios setting

It is supposed to do that. However, you can change that.
When you boot up, hold F1 and you'll enter the BIOS. Select Config, and then there's an option for display. I forget the rest, but it's easy to figure out from there.
(If F1 doesn't work, press the ThinkVantage button during the Thinkpad bootup screen, and there will be an option for you to go into the BIOS from there) -
I believe if you go through the ThinkPad Configuration Utility it can also do it that way, but yeah I used the BIOS as it is a more direct way of changing this.
AC full brightness > battery full brightness
