Hey guys. I would like to share with you my recent experience.
I bought lenovo T60 WS form buy.com and it came with a samsung screen, then I emailed the customer service and told them that the screen is too dim, then they aked me to send it back and they replaced it with a new one with LG screen.
I cannot be happier. Buy.com has one of the best customer service, despite all that bad reviews about them.

The Samsung screen is unbearable. It is way too dim, its really hard for me to use the laptop indoors or outdoors. It also suffers from major backlight leakage on the bottom.

How did you do that? I called buy.com 2 weeks after the shipment of my T60 WS for the same problem. They however denied my request for a replacement since it was past 14 days (it was 16 days).

After reading your post, i decided to email buy.com to see if they would reconsider and give me a unit with the LG screen. Did you email them within 14 days? Also do you know the name of the person that helped you?

I also contacted Lenovo to see if they would replace my screen. They said i would have to mail it in and they would examine it. But i'm afraid they would either not replace it or just replace it with another Samsung screen. Has anyone had any luck getting their Samsung screen replaced with the LG screen from Lenovo?

    Thanks.

    Hey!
I sent mine on the last day of the return period.
But I am not sure wether they will accept it when it is over.
Their policy says that the product must be in posession of the shipper no later than 14 days.
I haven't seen my laptop yet, since I am out of state now, I just phoned my roommate and asked him to tell me the serial number and then I checked it through Lenovo website. The website says that it is LG. However I can't compare them two, since I haven't seen the latter.
How I returned it is that, first I logged in their website and went to the order status page then I pressed the button "return" . Afterwards you will be asked to explain the reason of the return.
After doing so, a moment later they emailed me a RMA number with a UPS shipping label. I don't think I talked to a person, I have the feeling that their website generates RMA number and emails it automatically.

I got a TMD (Toshiba and Matsushi-ta Display) screen for my thinkpad and it looks excellent. I'm just curious exactly in what way LG could be better than my screen?
