taken from my UPS tracking page...

    LOUISVILLE,
    KY, US

A SPECIAL CUSTOMS DELAY IS REQUIRED FOR THIS LIVE ENTRY

Special has such a positive connotation nowadays. When was the last time a delay was a positive thing?

does this imply that my soon to be baby (R61) is in Louisville Kentucky or is that some hub/center that is used for all such customs delay?
And if the laptop is in Kentucky why on earth is the expected ship date still 3 days out? This is something I've never understood about delivery services. Google maps and Microsoft streets and trip both calculate about 12 hours and 40 mins of driving time from Louisville to Dallas, and knowing the way majority of the truckers around here drive I'm sure the actual driving time is more like 10 hours.

It took my last ram order 15 hours to arrive all the way from Mesquite Texas (a whole 12 miles away).

Don't worry, it will not be there long. Will probably get to you at least a day early.

yeah dont believe all you see on UPS tracking and even what their agents tell you. The live agent kept telling me conflicting information that was sometimes right, and sometimes wrong. They told me to expect one of my packages to be 1 day late, but it still jumped from Lex to my state within hours

Good to hear that Items were still received early.

I want a tracking system that identifies the absolute location (latitude and longitude) of a package at all times. Just pop a GPS (newegg has them as cheap as 60 bucks) unit in all trucks and what not and scan a package when it arrives to a distribution center, and when it leaves.
I hate seeing package out for shipment at 4:00am and 15 hours later it arrives from a whole county away.

Sorry I get caught up in an idealist mindset sometime.

real time gps tracking would be cool but I imagine it doing more harm than good. If I had the ability to real time gps track my order, that I have patiently waited for 5 weeks so far, I might be tempted to chase the truck down and ask him for my box.

You and the thieves would want the rest of the goods on the truck.
