    Hi all,

With all the talk I see about the ThinkPad screen quality being only so - so,

so now that I have started to look for larger screen size (15.5") than I originally intended (14"), I was wondering if there a 15.5 inch T- or W- model with a really good screen. I think I vaguely remember some guys saying there is a ThinkPad FD screen which is great, but please remind me. (FD is 1900x1200?)

Should I be aware of different panel models?

    TIA

it is 15.6 inch there is no screen that is made in the 15.5 inch format. FHD is 1920 x 1080, basically 1080p like in the Full HD TV.

I believe that T510 has a so-so quality screen. W510 may have better one, but I'm not sure. Both of them have 15.6" screens with 16:9 ratio.

The T510 and W510 both offer a "FHD" 1920x1080 15.6" screen, with a 95% colour gamut. I believe this is regarded as the best screen in the current Lenovo range. The W510 also offers an optional colour sensor near the fingerprint reader for calibration of the screen--I don't think that's an option on the T510.

Thanks for the responses! Yes I meant 15.4" or 15.6". Believe me I wasn't splitting hairs about 0.1" :)

Good to hear there is a good screen for the T5xx.

I believe the tablets are the best Lenovo screens being offered by Lenovo right now, but they have the touch surface as does the FHD, which effect PQ.

The FHD was available in both non-touch and multitouch variants, and the latter has the extra touch surface layer. However, I believe both are currently out of stock, so if you want those, you'll have to wait.
