I'm not terribly impressed with the tablet aspects of my X200 tablet. I do however like the machine overall. I like it's weight and it battery life. I'm wondering what kind of battery life do you all get X200s? I use WWAN a lot more so than wifi. Everything I've added to my X200 tablet will be interchangeable.

I don't think the X200T is bad, it's just that it doesn't exactly suit my purposes.

I haven't gotten mine yet, but 5-6 hours seems typical on the 6 cell. Simple math will get you the life of the other batteries. Of course, that's not with wwan, but if you have an idea of the relation between wlan and wwan with your habits on the X200t, the relation should carry over fairly well. A little more effect, since the lower voltage CPU on the X200s accounts for less of the power usage.

I get 5 hrs with heavy wifi usage on the 8 cell. I'd be getting the 9 cell with this. I've also noticed that I give better battery life with vista than with XP.

That's definitely normal, getting better battery life with Vista. The same goes for Win7 so long as you get the latest ThinkVantage tools. Maybe a bit better with Vista, but considering the smoothness of Win7, it's worth it I think.

Did you get the multi-touch version? That battery life would be in line with the NBR review on the multi-touch X200t, but very low for the normal touchscreen. If that's the case, you can probably expect near the 7.5 hours they got with the 9 cell X200s.

I have multitouch and can't get the screen calibrated sufficiently. It's one of the reasons I'm less than impressed with the tablet aspects. It's a good machine with great functionality otherwise. I'm a Verizon customer who relies on his broadband card for his primary internet access, and Lenovo plays very nicely with Verizon. There was no loss of reception when I switched to the Gobi from my USB dongle

Yeah, it definitely looks like your usage is similar to that during the NBR reviews. You should be able to expect 7-8 hours on the 9 cell. Or around what you get now on the 6 cell, without the protrusion from the back. I opted for that, so I'll get about the same life as my X61s with the 8 cell in a more compact and ideal form factor.

I've got an x200s with the 9-cell. With the wifi on, brightness at 10/15, and power set to Energy Star, I get 10-12 hours of battery time. Also, I'm running XP. These times are consistent over about four months of use. The 2 hour range of variation seems to depend on how much web browsing I'm doing. If I'm just occasionally checking e-mail, I get more time. If I'm watching ESPN videos about the Tide (RTR!), then I get less time.

Just so you're aware I don't think the x200s offers WWAN (although people have been able to mod it). Therefore, you will need to use your USB modem or try and mod the x200 if you switch to that.

The x200s 6 cell is rated at 56WHr, the x200T 8 cell at 66WHr, and the x200s 9 cell is rated at 84WHr. Power usage should be comparable between the x200s and x200 Tablet, so just do the math.
