I just recieved the accessories to my still-on-order X200, and amongst that a Lenovo USB Port Replicator. I installed it on my current computer, and got sad when I realized that it only supports 1400x1050 resolution.

Just wanted to inform other people about it, so you don't make the same mistake as me. Now I'll have to return it and wait for an X200 UltraBase.

Unfortunately, USB-based Port Replicators lack the bandwidth to provide high screen resolution on their video ports. There are further problems with video out and even supported resolution may suffer from "lag" when watching videos. So even at 1400x1050, a USB-based Port Replicator leaves a lot do be desired.
