I just got m T60 in the mail yesterday and I am EXTREMELY pleased. Way cooler than I expected. The weight has been good, screen is better than I have read, and it's been great to use great performance so far.

I know many people on this site have had negative experiences with lenovo shipping their laptops. I ordered mine on 12/19 and it was at my door 12/26...a week turn around which I think is pretty incredible when the initial estimated ship date was 1/2/07.

So for the many people who are considering spending the change on getting a thinkpad and are worried about getting it in a timely fashion, I urge others to post their positive experiences.

I ordered mine the day before you and got it on the 26th as well (which was the real estimated delivery date from my rep) eventhough the lenovo email said 1/2/2007.

I think, at the end of the day, it depends on stock. I ordered a pre-configured model that had 1 unit left in stock. I got it and they shipped it and everyone is happy. If you custom configure, you are asking for longer wait times. However, you do get a custom machine. Everyone has to decide what is best for their purposes/wants/needs. I could not pass up the faster shipping and incredible deal I got on my pre-configured model. My one sacrifice was I had to get intel wireless instead of thinkpad wireless.

I understand...as was mine. You inferred that people were unhappy with their ship times BUT that you were not. I was simply suggesting that there is a reason that our machines shipped so quickly. I also wanted to second your positive experience (as you suggested) with that of my own.
