I had this problem then I remembered not blasting the fan with compressed air. Before that I used the fan dust extraction program that is part of lenovo energy management. Ultimately, doing that was worthless, so I removed the back cover I noticed a bit of dust in my fan and also in the grill. Blasting the dust away with compressed air brought back my temps down to 40-44C idle and 75-80C when gaming. Just remember to pin the fan with a stick or something to prevent it from spinning when cleaning it out with compressed air.

I hate it when I have an issue that remains unresolved and the thread kind of dies, so here are some basic things that might fix it.
What have you tried so far to fix these problems?

Have you updated the driver for the touchpad?
You can download them here: Drivers | Synaptics
If you're like me and like to limit whats running, don't disable the SynTPEnh.exe process from msconfig/services, the drivers won't work right without it running.

Is sleep mode enabled in the power settings?
Open the start menu and type in "change what the power buttons do" without the quotes and press enter.
Make sure those are set to sleep (Mine are all set to the sleep option)

I have also seen some drivers cause a computer to not Wake Up from sleep.
Try updating your Intel and Nvidia drivers.
    Intel:
http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect Automatically checks, but requires Java.

    Nvidia:
    http://www.geforce.com/drivers The Y580 has a 600M series. GTX 660M.

I've also found IOBits driver booster to be useful for updating drivers, even ones I didn't know had available updates.
