Hey, everyone! I'm looking to purchase a laptop for use in college. I'm going to be taking my desktop with me as well, so I'm not looking for something that needs to play all games maxed, etc.

I am, however, looking for a notebook that will be able to play games relatively well, and still maintain decent battery life and not be 8 lbs.

At first, I looked into the HP Envy 15. I had numerous issues when I purchased one, and ended up returning it. Then I waited for the Macbook Pro refresh, but apparently that's not happening anytime soon, and I still doubt they will put a decent GPU in it.

Now, I'm looking at the Dell Studio XPS 16, though I refuse to purchase one until they refresh the GPU.

I just stumbled across the Ideapad Y560 and am loving the 8gb of ram, i7, and ati 5730.

I'm just a little concerned about the gaming performance I'll get with a Y560. I'm also interested in learning how much the machine weighs, and how big it is. Finally, I really need to know how much battery life I'd expect to get. I couldn't find this information on Lenovo's website, so I was hoping someone here could help.

There's already a post on the y460's and y560's.(About 60 pages long) Just search for it. Since the y560's just came out no one has really got their hands on one yet. But the y460's are powerful enough to play Battlefield, Call of Duty, ect. The battery is lasting about 3 to 4 hours under normal usage. The only problem is the poor cooling of the y460 but people said the bigger y560 shouldn't be nearly as bad. Weight: Y560 :with optical drive and battery: 6-cell: 5.95 lb (2.7 kg)
