I just got it yesterday but a few issues I've been having that I can't seem to fix....

I have it set to where I close my computer it doesn't shut down..it just stays how I left all the windows. But when I come back, the screen saver has come on and if I move the mouse, it comes back but the screen resolution changes. Everything will be big for like 20 seconds then it goes back to normal. It's annoying because all my icons will be all over the place from the different resolution. How can I fix this?

My other issue is that my computer came with Symantec Antivirus (I'm not sure if they all do but I bought the computer through my school). Anyway when I go to most sites or go to check my yahoo email, I'll get an email pop up saying "The current Web page is trying to open a site in your Trusted sites list. Do you want to allow this?" It'll pop up 2-4 times every time I go to certain sites. I press yes but it doesnt' give me the "don't ask again" option so I get it EVERY time. It's so annoying...does anyone know how to get it to stop asking?

    Thanks for any help :)

Yeah I had that same problem with my screen resizing like you did...very annoying.

ThinkZ61 came up with this solution that worked for me.

    try this:

    - Uninstall PM (Presentation Manager)
    - Press Fn + F7
    It might show black screen
    - Press Fn + F7
There should be 2 green screen icon displayed on the bottom of the screen
    - Go to display properties and change resolution for both screens to 1280 x 768 (or 800)
    - Press Fn + F7 one more time
There should be 1 green screen icon displayed now
    - Go to display properties and change resolution to 1280 x 768

Now, try closing your LID and see what what happens.

As for the second problem, Im not sure what to say since I always uninstall Symantec when it comes with a computer.

If I uninstall PM, will I be able to get it back somehow? Is it something I may need for school?

Actually, almost all TP comes with the Thinkvantage Software Installer. It helps you to download and install all utilities and drivers automatically with just one click. However, the program only supports direct Internet connections; proxy servers are not supported (and you think IBM designs its TP for corporate use....NOT!)
