    Hi all,

    First post on this forum!

I am looking at W510, but have a few questions.

First, I know that i7 720QM is running 1066MHz bus, does it take advantage of the 1333MHz ram if I chose to use them?

Second, I am hesitating over two parts: 720 vs 820 and HD+ vs FHD.
The CPU issue is mainly cost - I am not sure if 820 is worth 200 bucks more.
However, the screen issue is more about readability - I think HD+ has a nice enough resolution, but I like the 95% gamut and 270 nits on the FHD. My concern over the FHD is that texts and icons become too small for the high resolution, and I get dizzy when reading. How is HD+'s color display and stuff? If I watch movie on it, would I really enjoy it? I have a friend owning T500, he got a 1280x800 LED display and I didn't really like that. I think his screen is 200 nits, as compared to HD+'s 220 nits on W510.

Third, what is the color sensor for? Is it worth buying it?

Lastly, is it possible to stack bing cashback and educational program discount? My school isn't listed, and whenever I choose edu discount and checkout, I cannot log in with my user name - it just jumps back to the login screen again - but I can manage to write down shipment information anonymously.

Thanks for your time in reading the post and I'd really appreciate if you could throw in two cents on this!

    Best,
    iL

    1) The answer to that ram speed utilisation is yes according to the tabook that i have read before (but that was some pre-release information, so it could be different).

    2) If you get dizzy looking at small fonts, then just get the HD+, it should be more than enough. Don't compare the old LCD to the new LCD format used in the W510, T510 laptops, they are different type and is only recently produced.

    3) Colour sensor is for photoshop, illustrator, which calibrates the LCD colour to be as close to real colour that you see in real life. This is used by people whom do a lot of professional design, for people whom don't need them, it is just a waste of money.
