First, how I love the screen of the x61s :)

    Second, some problems:

I have set the time to go to standby/sleep mode to be 5 minutes, but it does not go sleep even after I leave it alone for much longer time. There have been very few times it did go to standby, but the standby indicator light was not lighted.

Also, while the machine is left idle, I hear some faint click sound coming from the machine, tick, tick,...

I wonder if anyone is familiar with such problems or could tell what the causes are and how to fix?

    Thanks a bunch!

Not really sure of the standby/suspend issue... There might be some programs interfering with the timer. Did you do a clean install of Windows? Are you setting the timer in the Lenovo power manager software or Windows power management?

The tick/click sound is probably coming from the hard drive. My X61s came with a Fujitsu hard drive that made a tick, tick, tick sound. Kind of drove me nuts. Think it was trying to park the HD head or something. I replaced it with a Hitachi HD, so the sound is gone.
