I bought my lappy in October and couldn't be happier with it except for a few annoying problems:

    1. Disabling the touch pad through Fn+F8 works periodically. I'll cold boot and its on, disable it, then sometimes it will just magically turn its self on again or not. Sometimes i put it to sleep and then when i boot up sometimes its on sometimes its off.

    2. Wireless card likes to power its self off therefore needing me to Fn+F5 to turn it back on again. Not as often as the touch pad but still really annoying. Wireless card is set to maximum performance in power profiles.

    3. Power manager seems to like to mess with settings from time to time such as changing wireless power settings from max performance to max power saving. Very annoying at school where wireless signal is sometimes weak.

I'm going to update all of the Thinkvantage software again to see if that helps, if anyone has any ideas on how to fix these problems it would be much appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Joel

    2. Access Connections - Settings - Allow wireless to turn off to save power

Device manager - Intel Wifi 5300 - Allow device to turn off to save power

Awesome thanks a lot! I unchecked it so it should stop powering off now...

I ran all the updates that Lenovo had on their site for the T400 but it will take a while before I notice any change on the other annoyances...
