I have finally received the best X220 that I have gotten to date, yet there are a few nagging problems compared to some of the models I have received.

    1) Media buttons: The mute button in particular is not very sensitive/clicky at all...in fact, it needs a significant amount of force in order for the button to work at all. It's like this for the mute and the volume up/down keys. Any solutions to fix the sensitivity of the buttons or to make them clicky?

    2) Clickpad: My old X220 had a nice tight clickpad, meaning that it wasn't wobbly when you rested your finger on the clickpad and you barely needed to apply any pressure to "click." On this model, it's very loose, and it takes a little more pressure to click on the clickpad.

As I said, compared with all the other X220's I have gotten, this particular one is fantastic, with only these two minor problems. If anyone has any suggestions to help me with these, I would appreciate it!

Regarding point 1, the keyboard is a customer-replaceable unit (CRU), so you can easily call Lenovo Support and tell them your mute button is not working properly, and they will mail you a replacement keyboard.

What's better about this compared to the other/s? Backlight bleed?

The backlight bleed is slightly better, it's the same in that it's in various spots on the bottom of the screen, but they don't rise up very high...less than 1cm tall.

The fan whines a little bit, but it's been drastically cut with BIOS 1.16.

I have bought 4 X220's, three of which have been RMA'ed/refunded.

Thanks for the advice, I'll get a keyboard sent to me ASAP via Lenovo Support.

Backlight bleed might be the principle probalo with mine. Not sure if it's bad enough to warrant being sent back. Can you post pics so we can compare notes?

Mine has backlight bleed too. I went through 3 Dell IPS monitors to get one that was pretty good, but I'm not gonna bother with the laptop. It's very rare that I'll even notice it outside of bootup. I'm not confident in many of them not having it at all.
