I am about to order a T510 and have a couple of questions:

Is it worth getting the HD+ screen over the HD?

If I get the HD+ should I upgrade to the Nvidia to get the benefits or will I be fine with the Intel HD graphics? I will not be gaming. This is primarily a business machine. Watching DVDs on travel etc.

Do most people get the bluetooth upgrade?

Should I upgrade to either the Intel Centrino 6200 or 6300 wifi?

I will also be using an external monitor to extend my desktop. Will the Intel HD graphics card allow this or do I need the Nvidia or does the operating system control this?

Thanks for any feedback on the above questions.

    1. I would recommend the HD+ LCD, the benefit of the LCD is independent of the GPU you choose.

    2. Nvidia Optimus would enable you to use 4 LCD (when docked to a dock 3 plus), the Intel GPU can support 2 external LCD.

    3. Bluetooth upgrade is something you should consider if you are using lots of bluetooth devices. If you only use it occasionally, then a usb bluetooth dongle should be okay.

    4. I would consider that a Centrino 6200 is a worthwhile upgrade.

    5. If you want only one external LCD to compliment the internal LCD, then the intel GPU should be fine, but if you want more later on, then get the nvidia gpu with optimus technology.
