    A Very Dissapointing Experience With Lenovo!!

    hey guys,

    the lenovo order status screen still shows me that my computer will be shipped out on 08-28 which is tomorrow. so i decided to give lenovo a call anyways and discuss with them when eveyrthing is shipping out. the call definately connected somewhere in india. so the guy puts me on hold for about 10 minutes and comes back to the phone. he tells me that now my order will be shipping on the week of October 7th!!! W*F!!! i ordered on 08-14 and my order is not going to ship until October!

    ok so not only that the guy pisses me off even more by sayin that "Oh and by the way your one year subscription of LoJack will be shipping out tomorrow" where am i supposed to put that?

    im gonna call back tomorrow again and hassle them some more. but as of now i am really considering cancelling my order and getting the hp dv5t. is there any charge for cancelling my order??

    There is no charge for canceling your order if it has not shipped. Please make sure that your credit card verification has gone through. That was an issue for many of us.

    Ordered my SL500 on August 8th and mine won't ship until October 2nd, the same day I start college, that is ASSUMING it won't be delayed anymore.

    Same boat as you. I ordered on 8/5 now. You ordered on 8/14. Think about how upset you would be if you ordered 2 weeks before that date. Mine keeps getting delayed from the original 8/26 to now 9/9. Very disappointed in Lenovo because alot of people that ordered 2-3 weeks later than me have recieved thiers already. This didn't have happen with my T60

    yea i already started school so im using my dads old laptop. and its the 27th and they still havent changed the ship date on my order status screen it still reads 08-28!

    and when you go to order a new laptop i love how they have written ships in 1-2 weeks.

    I would consider this to be that bleeding edge, heh. But a month would seem reasonable for a initial product launch...but 2months is horrible :(. I can't say I have had a great experience with lenovo for my x200 (which should be shipping soon).

    ok so i just checked the order status page today and it says the laptop will ship on 09-11.

    so either they are increasing the shipment date by one week at a time. or, the indian person i talked to on the phone was a retard. i hope the latter is correct.

    What the heck is going on?????

    Just looking at the status order screen once before going to sleep and hoping for a miracle. I guess i got it!

    Status: Shipped on 08/29/2008

    I just dont know what they shipped! Was it the LoJAck or my Laptop??? It says my order has been split so one part is the laptop and the other is lojack. Lojack section says 09/04/08 is est. ship date. And UPS is saying that the package they have is 4kg. I dont think lojack is 4kg...

    So i guess i am getting a Lenovo. Sweet. Now what if they come out with an LED display in like 5 days? What is Lenovo's return policy? Everytime I click that button it takes me to a dead page.

    is Lenovo usually like this with orders? or is this just a one time thing that doesnt usually happen?

    reason i ask is because ive been hearing alot of complaints about t400 ship dates.

    I too am having this bad experience. I ordered x61t with 2gb ram and i was sent one with 1 gb ram and then i had to make many calls and then i was assigned some one who finally said that i indeed ordered 2gb ram. And now its nearly 2 months since my initial placement of the order and i am still waiting for the 2gb stick. Meanwhile runnning vista with 1gb ram hang my tablet so many times that i already had to replace a new hard disc ( which apparently came to me in 1 day - becoz of the next business day warranty )

    I have now filed a complaint to return the tablet.

    that sucks alot. im going to be very angry if anything is missing/broken/incorrect with my laptop. however, with lenovo this isnt something too common. or atleast thats what im told by people who have corporate contracts with lenovo.



    I ordered the T500. And the reason i made this post was because the "delayed date" i was told on the phone was mid-October. But in reality they were just a day late on shipping my order from Hong Kong. I seriously dont understand whats going on with this company one person says mid-october and the next day the order status says 9-11 and then the next day it ships.

    i just hope their warranty department is much better than their sales department.

    well T500 is a popular series so there can be a chaos within the sales department. i guess its slightly understandable...even though frustrating.

    well just letting you know samsung warranty was a disaster when i bought there products.

    I think you fail to grasp the enormous complexities of designing, building and shipping such a large number notebooks all over the world. The reps give you different answers because they probably don't know. They're getting a gazillion calls a day from people going "where's my notebook?". It's not like the can run over to the factory and check on your order. They can only tell you what their screen says. It's probably a thankless task and they have my empathy.

    The best advice I can give you is to look as little as possible, which I know is hard to do, and let it come when it comes. Getting worked up because your shipment is delayed serves no purpose. It's why they call it an "Estimated Ship Date" and not a contract to deliver. If they have an issue which delays your order, there's nothing you can do about it except wait or cancel. If you need one by a certain date you should probably buy a pre-configured one because you can get it right now.

    I am one of the people that are disappointed too, but this could be a small group of people.....we post here to let some heat off.....so you guys may perceive it as a big problem.....however, many people are really satisfied by their shipment with some getting their laptop within less than 2 weeks after the order date.....if you want it and can wait for it.....I suggest you get a T400/500....there are no better deals than this
