    9-cell battery for 15.4" widescreen T61?

    My T61 (6460-66U) came with a 6-cell battery that just isn't enough for my needs. Are 9 cell batteries available for this 15.4" widescreen T61 (w/ 4-in-1 media card reader)?

    If so, what is the part # for the 9-cell battery?

    Mine (6459-CTO) came with a 9 cell battery and had to wait extra time as there is (or at least was) a battery shortage. I checked the products page and can't find one listed. If it helps, I pulled mine out and it is labelled FRU P/N 42T4511

    Does that battery also work for the T61p? If I do buy one, I'd like a 9 cell battery if possible even if I have to buy it separately.

    The 15.4" T61 and T61p can use the same batteries. I have a 9 cell in mine.

    I'm configuring a t61 now with a 9 cell...how much does it stick out the back with that battery? any pictures?

    It sticks out about an inch. Here is a picture for you:

    I think it is worth it to get the longer battery life. It really doesn't bug me at all.
