I am looking to purchase a T420 in the near future. I will be purchasing with a 9 cell battery as battery life is very important to me. I am also intrigued by the additional 9 cell battery slice which promises all day computing. I am still on the fence about this accessory. However I noticed that it seems to be signficantly cheaper if purchased with the laptop ($99 or less with corp discount) as opposed to purchasing it separately ($179).

Would appreciate any feedback on the slice battery. Is it worth it? How much battery life do you get under heavy use?

    Thanks in advance.

Worth depends on who you ask. I would say no, but I usually don't need more than a couple hours. I guess it depends on how much battery life you need and how heavy you would like your machine to be.
