On the Australian Lenovo order site the T510 can be configured with a 80gb SSD (price is ok also after 30% discount). Is it safe to assume this would be an Intel but more importantly a G2? If i can save the hassle of scrapping a HDD, making a set of install discs and doing a fresh install on a privately purchased SSD it would be great.

Yes, Lenovo is now using the Intel G2 drives as the 80GB SSD option.

462.00 AUD seems pricey (i converted to USD). Even with 30% off that is more than the market price (at least in the US). What's the normal price in AU?

Around $400 AU is about as good as we can get. So the price from Lenovo is ok with 30% off. Plus of course less hassle and I dont have to find a way to ditch a 250gb 5400 rpm drive. I wouldnt use it in the Ultrabay. Prefer a 500 gb 7200 rpm 2.5"
