Awww yes! Hope to see the Y400 soon. Crossing fingers

Funny how the 2nd picture is a Y400.

That one is definitely the the 650m I checked my previous cancelled order and its the same part number 0C22230.

Even the bay for Y500 has the same part number. They only added the GPU model in the description, other then that nothing else has changed. Oh, and the pictures :D

Actually I made a custom keyboard :D. I had a spare Y400 and one Y480 keyboard. I had to put the back light from the Y480 into the Y400. Because the red colour we get from the keyboard, are actually red LED lights. It is a very long boring and tiring procedure since you have to remove all the keys, peal off the lights and the plastic frame etc. etc. But it looks nice in white. So, now I have 3 types of keyboard: original, original with white backlight and Y480 with red backlight (but the Y480 one you cannot screw it in, it just stays into place; if you like it installed permanently, then you need some double side tape from home depot.

Can you take a picture of both laptops? I'd love to see what they look like.

Which both laptops? I only have 1, the Y400. Only the keyboard and screen is a little different. The screen because is matte and the keyboard because it lights up white instead of red. And those things are not noticeable in a picture. You have to see it in front of you...

I don't know why you'd change it from red to white.. Well, actually I can see reasons why, but my school color's are garnet and gold and this red matches my background perfectly xD.

How long (approx.) did it take to change each light?

I think it'd be sick to change a couple to gold, haha.

The screen is changed to matte because Lenovo sent me a defective unit with a bad screen. I have a friend who could get me a matte screen, that is how I replaced it (already mentioned this on another thread here). And the reason I changed the keyboard lights from red to white is because if you are in the office and you need to light up the keyboard (for some reason), you look like Santa. The rounded red colour on the keys, it gives a classy look and it matches the laptop's colour overall (including the speaker's grill). But when the light is also red, that is a bit too much and in my opinion the machine starts looking like a toy. It's all about preference :)

If you do not have the right tools and experience to do it (you need few prying tools), you will definitely break something. I do not advice anyone to do it without the right knowledge and tools and patience ofcourse.

The 750m I ordered ended up being a 650m, lenovo swears it was a error on their part but the part number is 100% corrrect. So I have another coming, we'll see.
Anyone with a SLI version around? Maybe we can get the serial and look up the parts list to the correct part number.

Oh good, lenovo is worse then I thought.

Not only did they send me the wrong card again, the one i returned the replaced instead of refunded. So now i have 2 650m cards for my 750m laptop !!! yay!
