Anybody can give a review of it? I want to know whether or not 7200 is worthy. And I heard that 7200 is much more noisy than 5400. Is that right? Thanks a lot! Compared to the speed different (big different?). which one will you choose?

Depends on what you are doing. I hardly hear mine. For hard drive intensive apps, the faster drive will shine. For internet, Office, burning discs, not as much.

What kinds of things are the intensive apps? Playing game and analyzing data are the most important apps for me. Do you think I should get the 7200 rmp one?

Anything where there is a lot of reading and writing to the drive like audio or video encoding. It most likely will only effect load times while gaming. You could just see how it goes with the 5400RPM. The upgrade if you feel you need to.

Oh, I have another question. If I build my T60 myself, will the parts be shipped to me seperately? Is there any experience about these parts? Do they match very well with the notebook? I mean just like some slot space. thanks!

You cannot build your own T60. You can get a barebone like an Asus or MSI and put it together, but it is unlikely you'll save any money.

You cannot build a Lenovo yourself. They are not barebone notebooks.

Nothing wrong just more expensive than buying a TopSeller. And you'll wait more for them to build it. Plus I would never buy the RAM and HDD from IBM.

Take a look here. Can't you get the same thing cheaper by buying a TopSeller plus your memory and HDD from newegg.com?

Yeah. I took a better look and noticed it's a 2613. That price must be EPP.

Yes, I ordered it from EPP account. And I need the motherboard with 128M graphic. So I can only build that model. It seems that I don't have the choice to refuse buy a HDD and memory here. At least I should buy 40G and 256 :(. And after adding $35 and $63 for both of them. I can get this one. More expensive than from Newegg, but with EPP price, not too expensive. BTW will this notebook come with parts and backbone or as an integral? Thanks!

If the HDD and memory are shown as upgrades, they will come assembled.

You don't have the choice of refusing the minimal HDD and memory but, sometimes, you will get a much better deal by upgrading them yourself, when you get the laptop (you'll even be able to reuse the RAM for a total of 1.25 GB).

Plus, if you don't customize, you'll get the notebook faster and cheaper.

However, if there isn't a TopSeller option with the video card you want, customization is the only way. Have you checked the prebuilt models (because some should have the X1400)?

What's the price difference between the T2400 and the T2500 you selected? If it's over $100, I don't think it's worth the upgrade. Better upgrade something else.

Note: I don't have a Lenovo. I am just telling you how I would do it. I might be wrong (I have never visited the EPP site).

I see. Thanks a lot for your information. I am just want to make sure it is worthy. Bucause I just submitted my order. If I can get a better price, I'd like to cancel this one :) . I really reviewed some topseller model, there is one I am interested --2623D7U, which is $1679. But to me, I don't need that CDMA Wan ($170), and also DVD recorder (+$65), 9cell battery (+$90). Then without these three options, I can make the price lower than the original one.....Am I right?

There is another thing I am not sure. Will it come with a total 1.25G memory? How long will it take for this built order? If I just order that topseller one, can I sell the three useless parts from ebay with a good price?

It should come with the amount of memory and number of DIMMs you selected when customizing. I guess that's 1 DIMM of 1 GB and 1 free slot.

You should be able to check when it's going to be shipped on the Order Status page.

I have no idea about the eBay prices.
