Is 64 MB enough on the video card if I were to play an occassional movie, surf the web with video and game content such as www.nick.com or even play video clips from a news web site? I am not going to play Halo 2 on this machine.

Most customizable models on the T43 seem to contain the 64MB video card. I want to be absolutely sure that I don't need a 128MB card for my needs. Don't want bad video quality because I didn't get the 128MB card.

It has been frustrating experience configuring a T43 with 128 MB video card since I end up having to get a fast 2.13 CPU even though I will be happy with 1.73 or so. Don't want to pay $3000+.

There is no chance of any of the 1GB ram being used by the video card if it has just 64MB on it, right?

    Thanks.

oh 64MB is more than enough, actually a dedicated graphics card (what you are calling video card) is not even necessary for what you want. It has nothing to do with quality of video playback, the graphics card deals with calculating algorithms for complex graphics such as shadowing, 3D effects etc. Having a dedicated graphics card is nice, but 128MB would certainly be overkill for you, you could even get a 32MB dedicated card or integrated solution and you'd be fine, especially if you have 1GB of RAM.

what game do you intend to play?
When i had my T42 with the 9600, 64mb.. I was able to play Battlefield 1942 on the highest settings, and about 215 bots w/o slowdown.
