Is this still true? One must hack desktop drivers if running 64 bits Vista? Why doenst Lenovo make drivers available? Will hacking damage the card?

Any other hardware pros and cons to going with 64 bit Vista?

Its not necessarily that your "hacking" anything. What happens is that because of the 64 bit variety MS decided to play it extra safe with drivers. This means that you can ONLY use whql cert drivers (signed) on vista x64.

Nvidia has another trick up their sleave, since they dont make the cards just the chips they leave it to the ppl who use their stuff to develop formal drivers (quadro fx stuff).

Ibm does have a driver out at current, just go to downloads & support type in your model number and go to driver matrix. But in order to use the newest releases of drivers you'll need to modify them to include your card model. Nothing bad will happen as long as you make sure to find out if its compatible first, worst case senario everything looks a bit goofy (std vga driver) and you have to re-install the lenovo ones.

Talking about Vista 64 bit, nowadays how is life after Vista 64 bit?

I mean... for a normal user with 2 gb of ram and some old softwares like office 2003. With new Operation Systems coming 64 bit, like new Mac X, I wonder if it is not time already to install 64 bit Vista, since the support is probably increasing little by little.
