    Hi,

what is the overall system battery life with a 5400rpm harddrive as opposed to a 7200 rpm harddrive, how much of a hit to battery time is there with the faster drive?

This has been discussed to death already, please take advantage of the search feature.

This thread has a lot of different views/opinions on the matter and is a good place to start.

Short answer-little (a few minutes) to no difference in battery life.
