    I am debating of upgrading with 512 MB or 1GB in X41 (DDR 2 pc4200 -533).
I am afraid the adding 1GB will increase the power consumption / decrease battery life.
What is your opinion? Do you think it is overkill to put 1GB for total of 1512MB?
Thanks in advance for your input.

1.5 GB of ram is probably more than necessary, and shouldn't be much faster than 1 GB anyway. But power-wise, I don't think battery life will decrease noticeably.

The ultra ports really benefit from 1GB RAM, any more is probably a waste though.
