I use my notebook out doors away from my desktop most days now, and for the life of me it’s difficult to get an accurate data usage with those data calculators from Verizon or AT&T for my needs, and do not want to pay too much each month for 4G. Wonder if they are even close to what you guys/gals experience.

Wondering if anyone on this forum have used the 4G from either Verizon or AT&T/Sprint only using it for Online banking/ forums like this one each day/Some app downloads to update programs or to update windows each month/ news/ some emails daily. No photo/music/movie downloads at all and not go over 5GB per month. Read a few individuals that have gone way over the data usage with social sites such as twitter, facebook and movie downloads and get a heavy bill. Any light on this question would be appreciated.

I understand that we are all different, but the data plans can be $50 for 5GB and $80 for 10 GB and if I can cut the cable completely and stay within budget ($50 or less).

If you have time, you can measure your bandwidth use over the course of one month. From the sound of it, 5GB SHOULD be enough, but you never know. In Canada, there are unlimited 3G data plans starting at like $10 or something from what my dad tells me. I personally use a rather large amount of bandwidth every month (at least 15GB, some months even 45GB+), so I would never switch to 3G/4G only data plans.

Sprint offers unlimited 4G and 5gb on 3G s if you are in an area with 4G from sprint that might be an option??

Little fuzzy on how to measure this. Is there a link that can do this kirayamato26 without having the 4G, but just WiFi from my cable modem ?

Read up on Sprints unlimited but there's is not a true LTE 4G at this time and some complaints from users. This might be an option as well and thank you
