Hi this sounds excelent, too bad I read you can't upgrade the processor on the X61's because they are soldered to the MB?

I don't even have my x61 yet and now I have serious buyers remorse.

    Someone make me feel better!

    How's this:

I'm too broke to buy a USED X61.

    Eh? Eh? Pretty good eh?!

    You're welcome.

    Good for Lenovo
Now when the hell are they going to put the Penryns in their T series laptops?!
They said they'd to the T series first and I'm hoping the damn refresh comes soon because Lenovo Canada is running a sale on their laptops that ends Jan 21st!!

Hurry the hell up with those Penryns Lenovo!!!

Well since peryn just released I would imagine they are going to end the sales right before the new stuff becomes on sale. Thats why I'm thinking it may be better to just be happy with what I have rather then wait for the refresh to go on sale? (Justify my purchase) It would be out of my budget by far at retail...

I don't know if the peryn's will go into the X61S's either? Low Voltage peryns already?

Lenovo already sells T9300 with T series. At least in Europe and Canada (not applicable to CTO laptops)

    *bump*

Any word on when the Peryn X61 laptops are coming out...?? Anyone??

I feel like this really hits a sweet spot (people who want an ultra portable, but don't want to sacrifice speed with the X300 or MBA) I'm would most certainly buy an X61 with the T9300 Peryn Processor as soon as it hits the market.

Is this for real? I just placed an order for the X61 yesterday! If the penryn is an option for the X61 next month, I'm going to cancel my order. I can wait. Can someone verify this?

I have no idea how valid this rumor is... The thing is, via this endgadget post, there is an X61 available with a Peryn processor at PCMall.

However, this is from a retailer and not directly from Lenovo so it's not configurable...

I really didn't want to scare you away from your purchase. If you need your laptop asap, then I wouldn't cancel it. If you can wait, and you want the newest processor for your X61, then I may wait. Once again, I can't confirm when we'll be able to configure the X61 laptops with the Peryn processors directly on the Lenovo site.

Canadians can also buy a preconfigured X61 with Penryn:
    http://www.cdw.ca/shop/products/default.aspx?EDC=1395144

But a hell of a lot more expensive then off Lenovo's site although the descriptions shows it comes with a DVD RW drive. I don't know if that means it comes with a dock or an external USB DVD drive.

Arrrgh. I wish I can get a custom X61 with Penryn right now. I don't understand why Lenovo isn't making that option available when retail stores already have them.

Anyways, Because of this I canceled my X61 order. I can wait.
